Dr K.P. Singh superannuated as Director General of Police in Haryana. He is a postgraduate in Civil Engineering from IIT Roorkee. Dr Singh has also obtained LL.B, LL.M and PhD degrees in law while in service.
He has written 25 books and four monographs on different topics relating to laws, human rights and police training, including four collections
of stories and one novel.
He has written a précis on Local & Special Laws for IPSprobationers undergoing training at NPA Hyderabad. His books titled “Criminology,
Penology and Victimology” and “An Introduction to Prison Administration in India” are referred to by law students as textbooks in several universities. His books have been awarded by the NHRC, MHA, BPR&D and the Haryana Sahitya Academy.
