Saviours: Voice of Khaki (SVOK) aims to be the first ever platform in the Country for the men in khaki whether in the Police or Prisons or Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) through which they can voice their issues as well.
The Police are widely recognized as a service department expected to keep pace with various developments in Society, particularly on the other side of the fence. For that purpose, they have to continuously upgrade their skills, hardware & software to be two steps ahead of the offenders. So is the case with the other departments – Prisons and CAPFs – engaged in corrections, border guarding & internal security duties across the Country.
Their requirements of small arms, ammunition, communication, investigation, intelligence and surveillance platforms, AI & machine learning in predictive & evidence-based policing, software, mobility, bomb disposal equipment, perimeter security, access control & forensic labs are huge.
Police is a state subject these requirements & expectations are never uniformly aligned creating confusion in the mind of the industry catering to these needs. Our magazine SAVIOURS: Voice of Khaki aims to bridge that gap and bring the end users & technology and the industry closing by creating an effective interface.
We do not wish to be a news channel or a news portal. Rather we will bring analytical articles, research papers, technology updates, and burning issues that are useful to the men and women in khaki.
SAVIOURS: Voice of Khaki will serve all members of the police, prisons, CAPFs, top leadership, and policymakers looking for quality content helpful in shaping the Millennial Police. We will also be open to carrying articles highlighting the stories of valour and from the sports arena of the men in Khaki.
The bi-monthly magazine will provide a lot of insight into the functioning of the police to the general public, which has a lot of misconceptions about the police.
The moving force behind SAVIOURS: Voice of Khaki is Somesh Goyal, a former Director General of Police with over 37 years of experience having served in the Police, Prisons, and CAPFs like SPG, NSG, BSF, and SSB.
He is a post-graduate in English Lit. and Journalism & Mass Communication.
He is an alumnus of National Defence College. His articles on internal security, corrections, radicalization, wildlife, and so on appear frequently in national dailies.
Ashwani K. Anand is the Editor of Saviours: Voice of Khaki, who has around four decades of experience in the field of journalism, including in the troubled state of Punjab during the peak of militancy.
